Serial Number 8923434… born sometime in 1889. She is a shuttle bobbin machine and the early. She is actually a very early model 28-1. There are 3 variants of the model 28-1. These were manufactured between 1885 and 1912. What distinguishes her from other model 28-1’s is the shape of the rear plate inspection cover. There are 3 different styles, the earliest being a long kidney shape, then a kidney shape, and finally a pear shape. Because she has the long kidney shaped cover, I have identified her as a very early model. Another distinguishing feature identifying her as a very early model 28 is a slight raised ridge on the sewing bed… somewhat unique for the model.
